Role Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy Project Estimator / Project Development Assistant with a strong background in construction to join our team in Ocean Isle Beach. In this dual-focused role, you will be the backbone of our pre-construction phase β sourcing vendor quotes, building accurate cost sheets, managing client proposals, and streamlining the local permitting process.
The ideal candidate is a multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats β from using advanced construction CRM software to assisting with light warehouse and office logistics.
Estimating & Financial Analysis
- Vendor Sourcing β Source and obtain precise material and trade quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
- Cost Sheet Creation β Build comprehensive material and labor cost sheets for structural estimates.
- Estimate Completion β Formulate final project estimates by interpreting vendor quotes, structural takeoffs, and GC notes.
- Budget Tracking β Partner with the Project Manager post-handoff to hold profit margins and budgets throughout construction.
Project Development & Administration
- Permit Coordination β Coordinate, collect, and organize site plans, zoning documents, and land surveys to keep permitting on track.
- CRM Management β Maintain data integrity β estimates, visual plans, and client communications β inside Buildertrend.
- Internal Handoffs β Notify field staff, project managers, and supervisors immediately when a new contract is signed.
Client Communication & Operations
- Proposal Delivery β Finalize and deliver professional proposals to clients, handle all post-submission follow-ups.
- Product Knowledge β Develop a deep understanding of our core products and construction methodologies.
- Team Support β Assist with general admin tasks or light warehouse logistics as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years hands-on construction experience (estimating, project coordination, or admin/field).
- Advanced computer literacy; hands-on with construction management software (Buildertrend a major plus β training provided for the right person).
- Proven multitasker β balance multiple bids, vendors, and shifting timelines.
- Professional written and verbal communication β comfortable negotiating with vendors and interacting with customers.
- Willing to assist in a warehouse or run local office errands when needed.
Nice to Have
- Experience reading blueprints, CAD drawings, architectural renderings, or site surveys.
- Established relationships with local building departments; familiarity with regional permitting.
